Okie, a post by
itsbeenvery led me to think about this question.
Ignore the Epilogue for Harry Potter. How would you have truly made it end? Everything else counts, just not that part. I'm just curious to see what the response was.
I have two different scenarios.
Shipper SideIt's not hard to question that I would want Draco and Hermione together. I think in order to do that there would have to be a long explanation about how it came that way, or you could leave it open to interpretation as to how it came about. I would have also put Harry with Luna and Ginny with Neville. I don't like Harry and Ginny together. Ron, well, I probably would have made him die of some sort of dragon pox or just not had him in it to avoid having to write the stupidity.
Real SideI suppose I would have to really look at the books as a whole. To me, it makes no logical sense to put Ron and Hermione together as a couple. Intellectually speaking, I think she would always find him lacking and that it just wouldn't have worked. However, I think that the Harry/Hermione relationship is much more reasonable. Harry's feelings for Ginny came out of nowhere and I think that's where you could pretty much let them die. Hermione was Harry's true and constant companion. Without Hermione, Harry would have died more times than you can count on one hand. I also wouldn't make Draco's hairline receed. It's almost as if she was saying "HA HA! You like Draco, not I'm going to try and make him less attractive by taking this away," which totally doesn't work because most people ignore her in the first place.
Sorry, I think I might have been rambling.
Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts.
