My review of HP and the OotP
Over all, I loved it. But then OotP was my least favorite book!
What I liked:
Draco -- and his one line -- were pretty hot. :) He's just tall and lanky and that makes him sort of sexy.
I really liked the development of the Trio in this one. Hermione and Ron recognize that the trouble is only starting and twist Harry's arm to get him to teach everyone Defense. In the end, he seemed to really enjoy it and continued on. However, you also saw Harry trying to distance himself and then, after speaking to Luna realized that he was doing exactly what Voldemort wanted.
Generally speaking, I dislike Ron greatly. However, when Rupert is Ron it makes him sort of lovable to me. So when I watched the scene in the common room and he stood up for Harry it warmed my heart.
Fred and George -- VASTLY underused however they shined when they were on screen.
Umbridge -- just as nasty and psychotic as she's supposed to be.
Sirius -- I loved when he punched Lucius in the face and told him to leave his Godson alone.
Bellatrix -- extremely psycho and the way she should be. Helena was phenomenal and the few lines she had were executed beautifully.
Lucius -- YUM!!!
Neville -- I just want to hug the life out of him. I think my favorite Neville moment was when Bellatrix said "How are your parents?" and he said "Great considering they're about to be avenged." I love me some Neville.
Luna -- This girl couldn't have been more brilliant if she had tried. She really did a great job with the role and her sort of melodic voice and breeziness was wonderful.
Dan -- He's come such a long was from the stunted lines he delievered in the first and second movie. You could just see the rage and nervousness bubbling on the surface the entire movie. You felt his agony when Sirius died and I loved the Possession scene. I think Dan did a great job as, in this movie, it was actually focused more on him and not on the Trio.
What I didn't Like:
Just a few nit-picky things.
Why did they make it Cho that betrayed the DA? Adding in Marietta wouldn't have been hard, but they took out all the turmoil of Cho being jealous of Harry's relationship with Hermione and her crying all the time. I guess they didn't want him to be seen as an insensitive jerk to her crying, but it was sort of silly to change that.
The lack of Lupin -- seriously, was this necessary?
The scene after The fight at the ministry -- Harry didn't yell and scream at Dumbledore. I was ready to see him finally have the emotional breakdown that should have been there. But it didn't exist. It was just melancholy. This is my one problem with the movie. I thought that this one scene gave the book a little bit of credibility. It made it barable for me. Harry has been given a shitty lot in life and he was so pissed off about it and losing Sirius that he just finally snaps. He's a fifteen year old boy. Emotional outbursts are to be expected!!
