Okay, so I haven't posted in a while. There are several reasons for that.
1. Without a job, I don't have much of a life.
2. Everything pisses me off and I don't want to be on here complaining every damn post.
3. I'm pretty effing boring

I will say this, I have watched Mary Poppins probably 30 times in a week. My nephew, Landon, likes the music and he stares at it because of the colors. Also, Gavin is back and he likes the music too, so it keeps him entertained. At 10 months, he's freaking huge, in the upper 90% for his height. And he's crawling and cute and has funny little teeth.
Anyway, about Mary Poppins. It's such a good movie. Dick Van Dyke was brilliant as Burt. And Julia Andrews won an Oscar for her performance. But you know, if this movie was released now, there's no way she would have won an Oscar. It was a pretty simple role, all things considered. Not to mention that it's happy and cheerful and fantastic and that's something that the Oscars just don't give a shit about. Which is why their ratings drop every year. When you exclude movies that people enjoy and then praise movies that hardly anyone watched, then it's not surprising what the result will be. When your pre-show gets higher ratings, it's sad.
But that's not just the Oscars. It's the Emmys too. I don't watch 30 Rock or Mad Men. Actually, I don't know anyone that watches either, and both have been on the verge of or have been canceled. That should tell you something right there. Why award shows that don't get high ratings? Personally, I like the CSI's, ER, Two and a Half Men, and that show with Dr. Reed...about FBI profilers. I can't remember the name of it. After I post this and people actually read it, it will come back to me.
---
Also, I've been re-reading fics that I love. I'm not one that branches out into new authors. I like the ones I like and I won't read a new one. Also, I find that sometimes, the ones that people are fanatic about, I just don't get it. I'll read a few chapters and wonder how people made it through to the rest of it. *shrugs* And there are some writers who I will read anything by. The list is very short. But I've never been disappointed by their works. I think it's a sound formula that way.

I feel like the biggest crap weasel in the world. My brothers all bought me something for Christmas and my parents, and I don't have two dimes to rub together to get them something. I'll get 100 tomorrow for doing this webpage for friends of my mom's, but that has to go towards my car payment.

Landon was baptized Sunday. In the Orthodox religion they dunk the babies 3 times. Well, Brittni's mom was there and like every other special event for Brittni she ruined it. When they dunked the baby, and Brittni and I took him to the back to get him dressed, her mom comes storming out of the church, cussing really loud about how it's fucking ridiculous. Brittni was crushed. I think she's about decided that she's not going to invite her mother to her and Adam's wedding. She can't trust her to be an adult. Her mother ruined her baby shower, the day the baby was born, and now his Christening. She's a selfish bitch. I dislike her a lot.
What's worse, my cousin Jordan, from my Dad's side, was there and standing in the back with his family and heard her mom's little tirade, and he couldn't stop asking questions about it. He's 11 and he just couldn't understand why someone, especially someone's mother, could act in such a way. When I took him back to Birmingham, which is a 2 hour trip from Huntsville, the next day, he just asked me why someone would do that. How do you explain to an 11 year old, that was obviously effected by this greatly, that sometimes people are selfish and don't care how their actions hurt other people?

Also, it was 19 degrees this morning. This is unacceptable. I live in Alabama. Keep that cold shit north of the Mason/Dixon line.
