Personally, I feel its a little of both. I don't want my health care, which I pay for, to go down in quality because this guy over here can't or won't pay for his and feels the government should intervene on his behalf. The problem with that is if you look at this country at all the institutions that the government runs you'll find the places where people are the least happy. Post office, schools, the DMV. When you have something a big as health care being run by people who are more concerned with their bottom line it scares me.
For instance, Hilary's original health care plan called for you to call in to a hot-line and tell someone, not a doctor, what your symptoms were. If you broke your leg or whatever, but you would call this line tell them and then THEY would prescribe the best solution. And the best solution may not be the best one for you, but the best one for them. If you had to go to the doctor, they would tell you which one. Also, if you're older and developed cancer, I hope you enjoyed your life because all they would do is make sure you were comfortable until you died. This was her original plan, which is why it was turned down.
Now, do I think that if people are sick they should be allowed to go to the doctor, yes. But find another way to do it than sticking the bill on the tax payers. They tried to impliment statewide health care in both California and Massachusetts and it nearly bankrupted both states. I don't think it will work in this country until the immigration problem is taken care of.
But, yeah, that's just my opinion. Do I want national health care? No.
