Wow, if McCain wanted to steal the thunder from Obama after his speech last night, the point to him because he succeeded. Only the second woman nominated for VP ever. That's a huge deal! I mean, Geraldine Ferraro was almost twenty years ago. There's been a 20 year gap between! That's insane.
Personally, I like John McCain, I liked him when he ran in 2000 and 2004. I like that he's not conservative on every issue but neither is he liberal, which was the main complaint of most people in the Republican party. But if ever there was a party unifier behind McCain it will be Palin. Not to mention that she may possibly carry voters that would have voted for Hilary because they're offended how not only the Democratic party treated her, but the media, and Obama's camp as well.
The thing is, I think it sort of balanced McCain's campaign. Where's he seen as an old player in the Washington game, she's new blood known for challenging those in her own party. Smart move, McCain. Very smart.
