1. Go to Google (or Yahoo) and type, "You know you're from (your state) when..."
2. Cut and paste the list.
3. Bold the items that apply to you.

"You know you're from Alabama when..."

1. You measure distance in hours. For instance - "How far is it?" "Oh, about ten minutes"

2. You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day. Spring, Fall, and sometimes winter

3. Stores don't have bags; they have sacks. Yes, they do

4. Stores don't have shopping carts; they have buggies. What the hell is a shopping cart? ;)

5. You see a car running in the parking lot at the store with no one in it, no matter what time of the year. Saw it two days ago, as a matter of fact

6. You use "fix" as a verb. Example: I am fixing to go to the store. God, I do this all the time!

7. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, or animal. This is mostly true

8. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked. Do this one too!

9. You carry jumper cables in your car...for your OWN car. Well, my car is new, but my brother does

10. You know what "cow tipping" and "snipe hunting" are. Yep and yep.

11. You only own four spices: salt, pepper, ketchup, and Tabasco.Well, my family is Lebanese and Italian, so we have other spices. But my aunt, those are the ONLY spices she has

12. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.

13. You think sexy lingerie is a tee shirt and boxer shorts.

14. The local paper covers national and international news on one page but requires 6 pages for sports. Especially when the state has the College Football National Champions - Roll Tide!

15. You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday. I don't hunt, but I know people that do and believe this

16. You know which leaves make good toilet paper.

17. You find 90 degrees F "a little warm." Again, very true. It makes me laugh to hear people say it's hot when it's only 80 degrees outside

18. You know all four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Christmas. This one is soooooooooooo true! I can't tell you how many Decembers and January's we've had where we've had 80 degree weather

19. You know whether another Alabamian is from southern, middle, or northern Alabama as soon as they open their mouth. True, again. People from the middle of the state tend to have thicker accents.

20. There is a Dairy Queen in every town with a population of 1000 or more. Sad but true

21. Going to Wal-Mart is a favorite past-time known as "goin wal-martin"or off to "Wally World. Walmart is a favorite past time, mainly because there is nothing else to do

22. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good chili weather. See number 17!

23. A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola, or pop ... it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor If you don't believe this one, go into a restaurant in the south, say you want a coke, and listen to the waitress ask you "What kind?"
