WOW at this question. The list of things I disagree with Karl Marx on is a mile long and this statement is one of them.
However, that wasn't the question. I suppose the opium of the people is allowing someone else to make your decisions for you. They no longer have to think because anywhere you turn you have someone telling you what to do or think which makes us all mindless drones willing to go with anything, even if it's not whats best for us. So, yeah, Freedom FROM Thought is new opium of the masses.
