Family Problems

Let me give you a background about this problem.
Britni, my brother Adam's gf, was in a car accident with an ambulance a few years ago and got this huge settlement when she turned 18. Well, she has this friend named Brook, who she spent around 25,000 on for clothes and food. When the money dried up, Brook stopped hanging around Britni. We, my family and I, realized that Brook was using Britni last summer when we're all sitting in the patio room after swimming and Brook goes 'Let's all go get dressed up and go out and eat somewhere expensive and Britni can pay,' and Britni goes 'Okay!' Well, my dad pulled Britni aside and said that there was no reason for them to go out to eat when he was making everyone hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch. And he made her see that she didn't need to do that, so she didn't go and Brook got mad.
About a month ago, Brook came back into the picture because she didn't have anywhere to live. Well, Adam's issue with Brook isn't really with Brook but how Britni acts about Brook. She puts her before Adam. Now, Adam's not an angel. He's a bit possessive and he should be where it concerns Britni because she's left him in the past for his best friend and then left the best friend before him. Naturally, he doesn't totally trust her.
So, what happened a few days ago was, with Brook, Britni went to a guys house. Two guys, two girl, both guys single. Well, Adam didn't even know that part yet. He just knew that when he got home from work, she wasn't there and no one had seen her for hours. Well, he called her cell phone and asked her where she was cause he'd been paid and was going to take her out to dinner and she jumped his shit asking him why the hell did he need to know where she was and it was none of his business. So, when she finally arrived back at the house, with Brook who jumped in the shower cause she'd had sex with one of the guys, he didn't know this at the time either, he's trying to talk to her and when he asked her again where she'd been and what she'd been doing, she flew off the handle at him and told him she was leaving and called him stupid. Well, I intervened at this time and told her that she had no right to call him stupid and that by acting the way she was, even if she hadn't done anything, made her sound REALLY guilty.
So, then my mom sat Britni down and talked to her and Britni said that Adam just doesn't like Brook and is jealous of Brook. My mom said that Brook isn't the issue, it's the way Britni pushes aside Adam's feeling and puts Brook first. She then told her that Brook has nothing in common with Britni anymore as she's in a relationship and has a baby on the way and Brook doesn't even have a place to live because she's burned all of her bridges. Well, Adam left the house to go see his godchild. She wanted him to come back so she could bitch at him some more before she left again. So, Adam comes back and he's walking inside and she's leaving and she tells him that she's done and leaves with Brook, because Brook had court the next morning for a DUI and Britni was going to go with her from Athens. Well, Adam sulked all night, and the mother of his godchild told Adam that since she ended it when she left he needed to go pack all of Britni's stuff and leave it sitting down stairs. He didn't do that because he was hoping they could work all of this out. So, she calls him the next morning at 9. Brook didn't have court til 1. Britni doesn't get up before 11. EVER. So, she calls him coming back from somewhere and he asks her where she's going and she gets mad at him again and tells him that she wants to end it.
So, Adam, having had enough of this, asks her, on speaker phone for my dad to hear, "Are we done?" and she said "For right now..." and he said "No. You're either done with me or your not. No more games. And if we're done. We're done." and she said "Well, I guess we're done." and he said "Fine." and hung up the phone. Well, sometime during all of this, she tells Adam, with my dad listening, that she just bought a...dime bag? or something of pot and that her and Brook just got high. She's four months pregnant. And she's bragging about getting stoned. And my dad was furious and almost said something. But after Adam hung up from her, he called her right back and said "Come get you're stuff. I'll pack it for you." and hung up again. So when she came to the house, Adam didn't say a word to her and she tried to make him feel bad by telling him she didn't want to talk to him and he said, "okay."
So, last night she goes to Friday's where one of Adam's friends worked and cried to him that Adam was mean to her and doesn't let her see people and she didn't do anything wrong. And she said that she was going to give adam a few days to cool down and then talk to him. She can't believe he broke up with her. And Adam said "She'd been threatening to break up with me, so I called her bluff". Well, Britni called her grandmother who had just talked to Adam and my mom -- OH, I remember what started the fight yesterday morning. Britni told my mom and I when she left the day before that she was going to stay with her grandparents. Well, her grandmother called the house at 9 in the morning looking for Britni and Adam was like she said she was staying with you and she said well she told us she was staying with you guys. So that's when Adam called her to find out what she was doing.
So, Britni's grandmother, who has raised Britni, called my mom and talked to her and she told my mom that the whole time she was talking to Britni on the phone that Brook was in the background screaming that Britni doesn't need anyone but her and they would raise the baby together and her grandmother told Britni to tell Brook to shut the hell up that she didn't have anything to do with any of this. Well, Britni's grandparents love Adam. They see that Adam caters to Britni's every whim and now that he's the one who has ended it they're worried they're going to end up raising another baby. But Adam scared her even more when he told her that he had taken a picture of the 6 bongs and 2 hookas that Britni owned and that my dad heard her say she'd smoked pot while pregnant.
So, now Britni is going to talk to her grandmother, without Brook, and Britni told Adam that he's turned everyone against her and he said to her that if everyone in her life is telling her that Brook is bad for her then maybe she should take a look at her life. And this has just been hell on my mom. She cried when she heard that Britni had been smoking weed and popping pills while pregnant.
Anyway, I hope like hell that my neice/nephew doesn't have to pay the price for the mother's selfishness.
