So, I'm always looking for new music. And it was due to someone's PB for Ginny on the mythology game that I went looking for the band Epica. WOW! Just...WOW! I love that kind of music, you know, the girl led goth band?? It's awesome. So, I downloaded their whole discography to listen to. I really like Never Enough and Cry to the Moon.

*~*

Also, I have a new Tom Felton icon from his blurb in GQ. The lighting on the pic make his eyes look irradecent, so when I started actually playing with the colors and stuff for it, they became even more so.

You can take and use, if you want, just credit me!

I hate that people have seen HBP before me. *sigh* Please, if you've seen it, make sure any and all spoilers are under cuts. In fact, in the little cut line put "ASHLEY DON'T READ" because I'm really and truly tempted to go and spoil myself.

I can hold out two days, right?

*~*

Had chicken biscuit and strawberry muffin for breakfast. I'm telling you, the people in this office want me to get so big that I can't move hands or feet. I have no willpower when it comes to food, hence, the reason I'm big in the first place!

*~*

I had a dream that in the movie HBP, they made Draco/Hermione kiss because they changed the ending. Now, while I would love to see that, I would be deeply upset if they changed the endning to the books. I love to hate it. I want to see the crappy ass Epilogue on the screen so I can mock it from here to eternity.

Also, I was thinking on my drive in from work about Deathly Hallows, specifically the scene after Harry comes to when Voldie "killed" him. The part where Harry is facing down Voldie in the castle is sooooo cliche! Like, Harry starts monologuing! WHEN HAS HARRY EVERY MONOLOGUED!?! He's not Sam from Lord of the Rings! It's actually the dumbest ending to a villian...ever! Actually, I think that's my least favorite book in the series, even more so than Goblet of Fire and Chamber of Secrets. I think because it felt so rushed and contrived. HBP was so amazing and awesome that DH had no chance to be good, really. There was all this build-up in wondering what would happen...and then when it happened like some badly written fan fiction (even the hyped Hermione/Ron kiss) it was just a complete let down.

What do you consider to be the most over-hyped D/Hr fic? Not that it's bad, but just that everyone loves it and while it's ok you don't get the hysteria.

For me, that would be the Draco Trilogy. Like, I read the first part, and never read the second and third because I just didn't understand why people loved it. Like, people talk about it all the time like it's the be all/end all of D/Hr fics when I really have to disagree. Before I would ever recommend that fic to anyone, I never would, I would have to go with "Their Room" by aleximoon, "We'll Always Have Paris" by Melissa D, "Dowry of a Single Galleon" and "How to Fall In Love In A Day" by bunney, or "Dragon's Bride" by rizzle! And I can give the reason for each one of those...in fact, I think I will.

FAVORITE FICS!!

"Their Room" by aleximoon - I read this years ago and I pick it up to read every year. To me, the relationship, or budding friendship, between Draco and Hermione is slow going and frustrating. For every step they take forward, they take three back. The two of them in those positions, I believe, would act the exact way they do. I think the emotions involved are raw and real. It's still one of my favroties.

"We'll Always Have Paris" by Melissa D - such a great fic! I mean, down to the details (and I'm usually not big on details) it is very powerful. I liked them actually having a relationship that everyone knows about and both of them suffering the consequences of it. I think her Draco might have wandered off the path of being the real Draco because he was far too sappy at times, but over-all, I love this.

"Dowry" by bunney - It's such a tease! Like, for 19 chapters, you're waiting for their relationship to finally be consummated. But that's such a background part of it. There are such depths to these characters. Draco's constant need for reassurance of not only his importance in the lives of his parents but in Hermione's love for him. I think it hits home to the fact that some guys equate a woman's love with what she's willing to give him in bed. I think their wedding night was the ultimate for Draco because he finally understood that, yes, she did love him. And Hermione plays just the right amount of fear and excitment about the world of sex, a world in which she knows nothing about. Oh, and there's the background of Lucius/Narcissa. I love reading that pairing done well.

"How To Fall In Love In A Day" by bunney - I like the fluffy part of it. I usually like a little bit of angst with my fluff because it seems kind of flat without it, but this totally worked. From them just enjoying the day together to Christmas morning, it's just a great little fic. It's not very long, but it's well worth the read.

"The Dragon's Bride" by rizzle - now, I hate to say this, and it in no way deminishes my love for the fics mentioned before, but this is my favorite. Ever. It tends to combine all of the wonderful qualities of the previous fics I mentioned. Probably because it has like fifty chapters, but that's besides the point. Like "Their Room" every step Draco and Hermione take forward, they take like...six back. It doesn't have an over abundance of details, which I appreciate because I don't want to sift through six paragraphs of how a room looks, but it gives you enough to put you in the room. It shows that they, Draco and Hermione, both have their vulnerable points and that they each know how to push them. Draco, in his inability to cope with his feelings for Hermione, and Hermione with her ability to just accept it as it is, puts their at odds, but also brings them together. And the end...the end is just fabulous. Rizz really makes you wait and work for the happily ever after. There are a million different nuances that make this fic so spectacular! I mean, when you read a fic and remember phrases from it, that's powerful stuff.

Anyway, I'm done gushing!

"My heart aches with pain.
When I see you I vomit.
Die away from me."

Steven Hyde "That 70's Show"

It's just classic and it sums up my feelings of one person in particular!
