So, now I'm worried
Dec. 4th, 2008 12:39 pmAs you know, I went to the doctor Monday and they drew blood and stuff.
Well, the Dr. called me today with my results from my lab and she said that my insulin was WAY high and that my Thyroid was high too. I take meds for the Thyroid so she's upping the dosage on that. But the insulin thing she's giving me some diabetes meds to take before I go to bed.
My mom said that I may have the onset of diabetes which could explain why I'm constantly thirsty and am always run down.
So, I know some of you on my f-list are diabetic, and I'm just curious of what it really means. I mean, I have the jist, but diet wise what does it mean? because let me be honest. I love food. I love bad food. I've had a 26 year long relationship with food and I don't really have any intention of ending it. So, I want to know what are the dos and don'ts? Do you have any suggestions that would help me keep the bad things I like, sometimes, and yet eat healthy?
Also, I talked to the dr. about possibly getting the lap band procedure. My mom said that since I have yet to have children that gastro would make it hard on me when I finally did, but that the lap band could be removed. She said that I would be a prime candidate for it. But still, surgery scares me as I'm a big wuss when it comes to pain.
Any thoughts or suggestions that you guys have would be great!
