1. Pacey/Joey - Dawson's Creek
And I'll give you one reason why! JOSHUA JACKSON! He played that part as if it was written for him. He could convey everything he felt with the expressions on his face and make you believe it. He loved Joey. He always loved Joey. She was it for him. Every girl always led back to her.
And while Joey was much more wishy-washy, she always loved Pacey. If she had real problems, she went to him because Dawson didn't understand real problems. She related better to Pacey, and I think, in the end, their relationship worked more because Pacey eventually called her on all her crap. They had the longest running relationship on that show and they had do deal with everything from Pacey's insecurities about Dawson to Joey putting Dawson first (which led to the insecurities).
From my favorite scene of any show ever The Anti-Prom dance:
Pacey: How come this feels so right?
Joey: Maybe it was all those dance lessons
Pacey: (touching her earrings) Where did you get those? They aren't you.
Joey: Why because I'm a girl from the wrong side of the creek or because Dawson gave them to me.
Pacey: Neither. You see this (touches her bracelet), this is you. It's not showy or gaudy. It's simple. Elegant. Beautiful.
Joey: It's my mom's bracelet.
Pacey: (smug) I know.
Joey: How do you know?
Pacey: Because, you told me. One day at school, you were wearing that sweater with the little blue clouds on it, I was annoying you as per usual, and you said "Pacey, I just found my mom's bracelet, can you cut me some slack today?"
Joey: (amazed) You remember that.
Pacey: (whispers) I remember everything
2. Angel/Buffy/Spike - Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel
I list the three of them because I really liked Buffy with both.
Buffy and Angel were the timeless couple. She loved Angel when she knew she shouldn't. She killed him in order to save the world, and it was such a traumatic experience for her that she left town for months. Their first time was such a big deal to Angel that he experienced true happiness and vamped out. He always came to her when she needed him. He showed up without her ever having to say anything, but he just knew that he needed to be there.
Buffy and Spike were different. They hated each other as much as they liked one another. Spike loved her. Spike loved her to the point of insanity. He went and got a soul to make her happy. She used him at first, but he gained her trust, first, by not telling Glory that Dawn was the key, second, when she told him that she was in heaven after she died, and third, because he was always there to help her in the end. I liked this relationship because it seemed to grow and develope more than the others. I mean, they really started out as enemies and in the end, Buffy said the three words Spike wanted to hear, but he knew she didn't mean them but it was enough for him.
Spike to Buffy from Once More With Feeling
"The torch I bear is scorching me. Buffy's laughing I've no doubt. I hope she fries, I'm free is that bitch dies. I'd better help her out."
3. Jackie/Hyde - That 70's Show
Hyde was the juvenile delinquent, she was the beautiful cheerleader. Their relatioship started because they were bored and it blossomed into something...strange. Hyde hated how superficial she was and detested most things about her. Jackie found him dirty and gross and hated that he was so cheap. It worked for a long time until Jackie started pushing for more from him and he just couldn't give her a commitment. He left for Vegas and came back married, which ended their relationship.
One of my favorite scenes ever!
Kelso: Look, there has to be something you wish you hadn't done. Like remember that time we found that stuff and you dared me to eat it and you rubbed your stomach and you were like "Mmm, it's really good" and I ate it and I wish I hadn't done that.
Hyde: I guess when it comes to Jackie I was a bit impetuous and a little rash.
Kelso: Well, I think that should be made clear.
(cut to Kelso and Jackie)
Kelso: Hyde said he's kind of infectious and has a rash
Jackie: What? Look, this whole thing is Steven's fault. He fabricated this whole mess.
Kelso: I think that's something he should know.
(cut to Kelso and Hyde)
Kelso: Jackie said she made a mess because she was wearing the wrong fabric.
Hyde: That can't be what she said.
Kelso: Word for word.
Hyde: Will you get out of here?
Kelso: What? I'm helping.
Hyde: You're making me want to kick your ass (slugs him in the arm)
Kelso: That better be the rash talking
